To enhance its water resistance, a DWR (Durable Water Repellence) coating is applied, preventing water penetration even at the fabric's surface. All seams are sealed for complete waterproofing.

The differences of the Gale jacket compared to the Guard jacket:

 - The Gale jacket has a 2-layer membrane fabric and a lining, while the Guard jacket has a 3-layer membrane fabric and no lining.

 - The Gale jacket has a slightly shorter back length than the Guard jacket because the Guard jacket was designed specifically for boat fishing.

 - Because the Gale jacket has a 2-layer membrane fabric, it is softer to the touch and more comfortable to wear.

 - The collar of the Gale jacket is lower as it is not designed for such harsh weather conditions compared to the Guard jacket.
