Winter and insulated pants for fishing, hiking and cold-weather outdoor use. The collection includes waterproof fishing pants, warm softshell trousers and insulated models designed for low temperatures, wind and wet conditions.
Which Winter Pants Fit the Conditions?
Cold, wet fishing: FHM Guard V2 Insulated bibs combine a Toray Dermizax membrane rated 20,000 mm waterproofness and 10,000 g/m²/24h breathability with Primaloft Black 100 g/m² insulation. This is the waterproof outerwear option of the examples.
Extra insulation under a membrane shell: FHM Innova uses Primaloft 80 g/m² insulation, with a manufacturer-stated 470 g garment weight. It is an insulating layer, not a substitute for waterproof rain trousers.
Windy hikes and mobile outdoor activities: FHM Stream softshell pants use 100% polyester with DWR surface treatment, removable suspenders and side vents; manufacturer-stated weight is 720 g. DWR is not a waterproof membrane.
Evidence: ACTIVE Shopify product and supplier specifications; the insulation weight in g/m² does not guarantee a particular comfort temperature, and these are not independent Outfish tests.
Choose Winter Pants by Use
Fishing: waterproof and insulated pants help with long periods near cold water and in wet weather.
Hiking and outdoor use: softshell and insulated models balance warmth, mobility and weather protection.
Cold conditions: Primaloft and other insulated constructions add warmth for winter activity.
Waterproof ratings, insulation and fit vary by model, so check the individual product specifications before purchase.
