This LOWA collection is focused on tactical boots, military boots, duty footwear and high-support hunting models rather than the brand’s full hiking range. It includes LOWA Zephyr, Z-6, Z-8, Renegade TF, Breacher and selected winter models for users who need supportive footwear for work, field use, hunting or demanding outdoor conditions.
Compare ACTIVE LOWA boots by conditions
Wet patrols and variable terrain: LOWA ZEPHYR MK2 GTX HI uses a GORE-TEX membrane and high-cut shaft, while ZEPHYR MK2 GTX MID TF Wide offers waterproof construction with a mid-cut shaft and wider fit.
Warm and drier conditions without a membrane: LOWA ZEPHYR MK2 HI Wide and Z-8S MK2 PR are listed as non-GTX models. Check their fit and lining rather than assuming they perform like GTX versions in prolonged rain.
Winter field use: LOWA R-8 GTX THERMO combines GORE-TEX protection with Primaloft insulation according to the ACTIVE product listing. Verify conditions, sizing and socks before buying.
Fit matters: “Wide” is a specific wider-fit version and does not apply to every color or variant. GTX indicates a waterproof membrane; non-GTX does not. All examples are ACTIVE Shopify product descriptions, not independent waterproofness or temperature-limit tests. Check the selected variant's availability.
Choose the right LOWA boot for your use
GORE-TEX models: selected GTX versions add a waterproof membrane for wet ground, rain and cold-weather use.
Non-membrane models: some Zephyr and Z-series boots are available without GORE-TEX for users who prefer a simpler, more breathable construction in drier conditions.
Mid and high shafts: choose according to the level of ankle coverage and support you want.
Wide-fit options: selected models are offered in wider versions for a roomier fit.
Winter and hunting boots: models such as the R-8 GTX THERMO and Z-series hunting boots cover colder or more supportive use cases.
This collection is intentionally narrower than the full LOWA collection. If your priority is hiking, trekking or lighter trail footwear rather than tactical or duty use, browse our hiking shoes and trekking boots.
Check the individual product page for membrane type, fit, shaft height and other model-specific details before choosing.
