Fjord Nansen BIVAK 8°C / 1190g sleeping bag

Sleeping bag (envelope) - a classic sleeping bag that can successfully replace a quilt. Good for shelter and ideal when family camping.

Details:

  • the filling is Eco Loft Hollowfiber - very warm, lightweight and soft insulation made of spirally twisted siliconized polyester fibers;
  • the inner material is lightweight and pleasant to the touch, made of vapor-permeable fibers, which helps maintain the right microclimate inside the sleeping bag;
  • outer material POLI RIPSTOP;
  • inner material POLICOTTON;
  • high-quality two-speed lock;
  • ANTI-BITE - a system to prevent the material from cutting into the zipper;
  • envelope shape - when unzipped, the sleeping bag can be treated like a quilt;
  • inside there is a pocket for valuable trinkets (20 x 20 cm) with a card for the owner's data.

Technical parameters:

  • t max temperature: 24°C;
  • temperature T comf: 13°C;
  • t lim temperature: 8°C;
  • extreme temperature (T min): -3°C;
  • maximum user height: 178 cm;
  • total length of the sleeping bag: 190 cm;
  • width of the sleeping bag at the widest point: 80 cm;
  • weight: 1190 g (without cover).

Technologies:

Note: in the name we specify T lim - this is the lowest temperature at which (a standard man) can sleep comfortably. Women or people who freeze easily should be guided by the T comfort thermal parameter when choosing a sleeping bag.

  • Testing in a climate chamber - selected models of sleeping bags from each collection have been tested in the Weiss climate chamber on a complex 16-element DIANA dummy (in accordance with the European standard PN-EN 13537-2004). In this way, the temperatures T max, T comf, T lim, T min were determined. Then, based on the results of the tests, the temperature ranges of all Fjord Nansen sleeping bags were calculated, thus reducing to a minimum the risk of the customer buying the wrong sleeping bag. Before choosing, ask yourself how you feel the cold and take this fact into account when choosing a particular model. In most cases, we should choose a model that is slightly warmer than we had previously assumed.
  • Temperature ranges according to EN 13537 - they refer to a standard man and a standard woman after an average effort. NOTE! Sometimes the sensation of cold can be different in different people. Factors such as fatigue, hunger, malaise, previous hypothermia, age, metabolism, body fat thickness, etc. also affect the way the cold is felt.
  1. Upper comfort limit (T max) - the temperature at which (a standard man) does not sweat, and excessive temperature does not disturb his sleep.
  2. Comfort (T comf) - the temperature at which a person is in thermal equilibrium and does not feel cold. This value refers to a (standard), most full woman, after an average effort. This parameter should guide women when choosing a sleeping bag.
  3. Limit temperature (T lim) - the lowest temperature at which (a standard male) can sleep comfortably. This parameter should guide men when choosing a sleeping bag.
  4. Extreme temperature (T min) - exceeding this value results in the risk of hypothermia and means conditions in which you can survive for six hours at most (a parameter based on the feelings of (an average woman). We should not be guided by this temperature when buying a sleeping bag!!
