Camping Tarps & Canopies for Shelter and Rain Protection
Camping tarps and canopies create flexible covered space for hiking, hammock camping, campsites and outdoor cooking. This collection includes lightweight tarps, larger shelter tarps, thermo and hot-tarp models, pavilion shelters and compatible walls, mosquito nets and connectors.
How to Choose a Camping Tarp or Canopy
Lightweight tarps: compact models are well suited to hiking, hammock camping and minimalist shelter systems.
Larger tarps: bigger formats provide more covered space for groups, cooking areas and equipment.
Canopies and pavilion shelters: better suited to base camps and car camping where comfort and usable covered space matter more than minimum weight.
Thermo and hot tarps: specialised models are designed for colder-weather setups; chimney-compatible products must be used strictly according to manufacturer instructions.
Attachment points: compare dimensions, tie-out layout and included hardware to make sure the shelter fits your intended setup.
Tarp or Tent?
A tarp is lighter and more open, making it useful for shade, rain cover and flexible camp setups. A tent provides enclosed sleeping space and insect protection. Many campers use both, depending on route, weather and campsite style.
Tarps for Hammock Camping
For hammock overnight systems, a tarp provides overhead rain protection and helps reduce exposure to wind. Pair it with a suitable hammock and, in cooler weather, a hammock underquilt or quilt.
Canopies and Shelters for Camp Use
Larger canopies and pavilion shelters are practical for creating covered communal space at a campsite. Depending on the system, compatible side walls, mosquito nets and connectors can add protection and improve comfort.
