Bushcraft Auger 25
Bushcraft Auger 25
Manual Ø25 mm bushcraft auger for building wooden camp structures.
Includes a beechwood handle with a cm/inch ruler and Ø25 mm sizing gauge, plus a waxed cotton storage pouch.
A simple tool. Simple mechanics. Many possibilities
A simple tool for one of the most fundamental campcraft skills: building strong, functional structures from wood.
A manual auger with a diameter of 25 mm lets you drill holes and shape matching wooden tenons, allowing poles and branches to be joined without any nails or screws. A stool, chair, table, ladder, bed frame, shelf, firewood rack or camp kitchen setup — whatever your camp requires.
The threaded lead screw bites into the wood, while the spiral cutting edge gradually removes material with every turn. The beechwood cross handle provides plenty of leverage, allowing the auger to be driven with a smooth, controlled motion.
The upper part of the auger has a double function. The steel handle socket lets you slide the beech bar through it to form a comfortable grip for drilling.
Its edge also shapes the end of a branch down to a diameter of Ø25 mm, so a single tool gives you both the hole and the wooden tenon that fits it.
The beech handle itself is more than just a grip. Its diameter Ø25 mm matches the diameter of the auger, so it doubles as a gauge while you prepare wooden tenons. The marked scale also turns it into a practical ruler 0–15 cm / 0–6″, which lets you take simple measurements without reaching for another tool.
The set is finished off with a burned-in logo BUSHMEN Travel Gear and a fitted waxed cotton pouch. It protects the tool during transport and keeps all components together and ready for use.
Simple materials. Simple mechanics. Many possibilities.
A tool made so that a few pieces of wood can become something you genuinely need in camp.
Key Features
-
Ø25 mm auger
The hardened steel auger with a 25 mm diameter drills holes sized for the solid mortise-and-tenon joints used in camp furniture and structures.
The threaded, sharpened lead tip helps start the hole and guides the auger into the wood, while the spiral cutting edge removes material with each turn.
-
Handle socket and Ø25 mm tenon cutter
The upper part of the auger has two functions.
– With the beech handle slid through, it forms a comfortable lever for drilling.
– The shaped edge of the socket also lets you whittle the end of a branch into a Ø25 mm tenon matched to the hole the auger drills.
So with this one tool you make both halves of the joint: the hole and the wooden tenon that fits it.
-
Beech cross handle
The removable beech wood handle gives you the leverage to turn the auger comfortably with both hands.
When the work is done it pulls out of the steel socket, so the whole set packs down small for transport.
Natural wood sits well in the hand, and the burned-in logo BUSHMEN Travel Gear underlines the classic character of the tool.
– Ø25 mm tenon gauge
The diameter of the beech handle matches the working diameter of the auger.
That means the handle also works as a simple gauge while you whittle a tenon. It lets you quickly compare the diameter of the piece you are shaping with the hole the auger will drill.
One part of the set – two functions.
– cm / inch ruler
The surface of the handle carries a scale in two systems:
0–15 cm
0–6″
It lets you quickly check the drilling depth, the length of a tenon or another part, or mark out where to drill
A small detail that out in the field often means one tool less to carry.
-
Waxed cotton pouch
The auger and the beech handle both fit into a pouch made of waxed cotton.
There is room in the pouch for other small accessories too
The waxed fabric helps protect the contents from moisture and dirt, and the zip keeps every part of the set together in transport.
Waxed cotton is not only practical - over time it takes on a natural patina all of its own, a record of camp after camp and of everything you have built.
-
Works without power
BUSHCRAFT AUGER 25 runs on your muscle power alone.
It is simple, self-sufficient and ready to work anywhere there is a suitable piece of wood.
