Synthetic Sleeping Bag Fjord Nansen KJOLEN XL RIGHT is an XL mummy bag for users up to 200 cm. Its MICROfill Super-Therm synthetic insulation, 210T polyester RIPSTOP outer shell and 190T polyamide lining accompany a T comfort of 3°C, T limit of -2°C and total weight of 1,400 g.

Insulation and Materials

MICROfill Super-Therm uses very fine fibres formed into a soft, resilient insulation layer. Fjord Nansen says it combines insulation and low weight while retaining elasticity after repeated washing. The 210T polyester RIPSTOP shell interweaves reinforced fibres for added strength; the lining is 190T polyamide.

The manufacturer reports a ten-wash test with spinning to assess filling strength and displacement, wash resistance and thermal stability over time. It says the MICROfill material retained its thickness, elasticity and technical parameters.

Smart Construction

• The ergonomic mummy shape reduces the internal space the body must warm; the comfort-width cut is about 5 cm wider than the standard cut.

Temperature and Source Note

The manufacturer says the recommended values are derived from nine laboratory tests on its sleeping bags and refers to EN 13537. T comfort is the reference for a standard woman or people who feel cold easily; T limit describes the lower comfort threshold for a standard man. T extreme is a survival-risk figure, not a selection target; individual cold perception varies with conditions and physiology.
