How and Under What Conditions to Use Nikwax TX.Direct
- Always wash the garments beforehand using Nikwax Tech Wash in a separate cycle.
- Do not dry the garments between the washing and waterproofing steps; TX.Direct works best when applied directly to clean, wet clothing.
- Clean the Tray: Remove any hardened powder or fabric softener residue from your machine's dispenser tray.
- Load Gear: Place a maximum of 2 clean, wet garments inside the drum.
- Dosage: Shake the 300 ml bottle thoroughly. Pour 2 full caps (100 ml) per garment into the detergent drawer.
- Settings: Select a synthetic or delicate wash cycle at 30°C with a gentle spin.
- Immerse 1 clean garment in 7.5 liters of hand-hot water inside a sink or washbasin.
- Add 2 full caps (100 ml) of TX.Direct.
- Agitate to mix thoroughly, leave to soak for 5 minutes, then give it a final thorough agitation.
- Rinse in cold water until the water runs completely clear.
- Nikwax features a heat-free formula. This means the DWR coating develops its full water-repellent strength during natural air drying.
- You can hang-dry the clothes or use a tumble dryer on a low, delicate setting only if the garment manufacturer's label permits it
