View full detailsHiking clothing for trekking, day hikes, travel and active outdoor use. This collection brings together base layers, fleece, Softshell, waterproof jackets, hiking pants, shorts and other practical clothing for changing temperatures and weather.
In warm weather, lightweight, quick-dry clothing helps manage heat and sweat. In cool or windy conditions, add fleece and Softshell. In rain, use a waterproof shell. For winter or long periods of lower activity, add more insulation and protect exposed areas from wind and moisture.
Hiking pants are a core part of a trekking setup because they balance mobility, durability and weather protection. Choose lightweight trousers for warm conditions, Softshell pants for cooler and windier weather, and waterproof pants when sustained rain is the main concern.
For faster hiking, prioritize breathability, stretch and low weight. For slower trekking, camping or mixed weather, prioritize layering flexibility and weather protection. For summer routes, shorts and light tops are practical; for colder trips, base layers and insulation become more important.
Read our base layer guide, the Softshell vs Hardshell guide, and the waterproof jacket guide. For a real multi-day hiking example, see Journey to the Mountains of Georgia.
For footwear and equipment, browse hiking footwear, hiking gear and the wider Camping & Hiking hub.
